Deciding/Organising Costume.
As a group, we collectively decided that Lila and Matthew would be in charge of sourcing costumes, such as getting the actors's size, buying the articles etc. as I already had a large task with props. After discussing the details of the clothes, I went ahead and gathered images on the internet and put them together on Canva to visually picture how our actors would look:
For the man, we chose a black turtle neck, a pair of skinny-ish jeans, black dress shoes, a wedding ring, and Ezra's glasses (should he be our main actor). The top, dress shoes and bottoms, to us, seemed perfectly neutral, smart yet somewhat sinister, its atmosphere holding that of a villain's. However, we didn't want to overdo it as we still wanted to depict that he is an average, everyday man to present the idea that unexpected individuals can be criminals. The ring, on the other hand, was to illustrate that he is engaged, further supporting our plot in regard to his motive to murdering his sister (to financially support his family as much as he can). The glasses were not a requirement but we quite liked the idea of the man's glasses sitting on the tip of his nose whilst going about the process.
For the woman, we chose a white, slim fit t-shirt, a pair of skinny jeans, red ballet pumps and a grey cardigan. We wanted her top to contrast that of the man's in colour to metaphorically represent 'good' and 'evil' - to compliment the top, blue jeans seemed like the best option. To avoid the costume becoming too plain, we added on a grey cardigan for a neutraliser. Lastly, the red on the shoes was to represent danger, matching that of the only other red props: funnel and berries. On a practical level, we wanted her ankles to be exposed for the shot of her foot tied to the chair.
Overall, we kept the costumes quite simple as we didn't want to draw attention away from the intricacy of the process.
