Brainstorming a Location.
We had previously discussed possible shooting locations, but today we looked at them in more detail. This was in order to see which place would suit our sequence the most - this wasn't particularly difficult as the narrative could be placed in different locations (though we were aiming for a singular room with lots of natural lighting).
Luke, the creative director at Hurtwood, suggested that we use the Beatrice Webb garden house as it presents an ideal situation lighting-wise due to its windows. He showed us clips from previous media students who filmed sequences there so that we had a clearer understanding of the space, such as in 'Polly':
Our group also looked into backup locations, as we wanted to be prepared should any issues arise; these could vary from weather, temperature, the public, lack of power source etc.
I suggested the studio as it is a stable location that could easily be made into our set due to the nature of the room (as it is designed for that purpose), is private, doesn't rely on natural lighting and has power. The only issue with using this location would be that our wants of using shadowed effects would have to be discarded as it is not naturally lit.
